Department of Social Work
The Department had its inception in the year 1975 with Community Development Specialization with the commitment to serve the society. It was under the conspicuous attention of our founder Dr. T. S. Avinashilingam Ayya and was nurtured with his great ideas and advices. Twelve years later, in 1987, the Human Resource Management Specialization was introduced. M.Phil programme was introduced in the year 1996 and Ph.D Programme in the year 2001. Thirty five M.Phil and sixteen Ph.D candidates have obtained their research degree.
The Department has a long standing forty years of service to the society and student community. Many of our alumni are occupying prominent positions in various fields. The students are preferred by many industries and non-governmental organizations for placements.
