Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics was established in 1964 and B.Sc Mathematics degree programme was started in the year 1968. M.sc degree programme was introduced in the year 1971 to admit the first batch of the B.Sc Mathematics students. The M.Phil and Ph.D programmes were started in 1988. The department has completed 48 years of noble service in the field of higher education.

Active research in the fields of Differential Equations, Fluid Dynamics, Fuzzy Differential Equations, Fuzzy Algebra and Numerical Methods are being carried out.

Salient Features

  • More than 80 research papers are published in reputed international journals Research grants of Rs. 1 Lakh received for two Minor research projects and Rs. 90 Lakh for DST- FIST project received for the departments Mathematics,Physics, Chemistry
  • A Certificate Course in LATEX is being conducted for Research scholars
  • An all India Education Tour is arranged for final year UG and PG students every year
  • Intercollegiate Mathematical meet is conducted every year
  • SLET, NET Coaching classes for final year PG and Research scholars are being conducted
  • Remedial Classes are conducted for the weak students
