Department of Mathematics

The department of Mathematics was established in the year 1964 and was one of the founding departments, offering Mathematics as an ancillary subject to the students of other disciplines. In 1968, it became a major Department offering UG degree and in 1971, PG programme was offered. M.Phil., and Ph.D., programmes were introduced in 1988. The department has completed 58 years of noble service in the field of higher education. The main vision of the department is to impart knowledge and mathematical skills to young aspiring minds. Many of our students have brought laurels to the department by winning many university ranks and also medals in different sports and extra-curricular activities.
