Department Of Computer Science
Computer science department was established in the year of 1998-99. The department comprises of high qualified faculties and well equipped laboratories. The department is not only concentrating the academic activities, but also taking care of all around personality development of the students. The department currently holds 5 faculties and nearly 150 students. Till now more than 1000 students have been graduated from this department.
The aim of this programme is to
- develop core competence in Computer Science and prepare the students to carry out development work, as well as take up challenges in future.
- enable students to acquire specialized knowledge for various subjects in computer science and to update regularly to keep up with the growing demands and the changing trends of the software industry of computer science and technology.
- develop high growth path and to keep pace with the current technological trends.
The additional features of this programme are:
- Internship training in the 6th semester in order to expose the reality of IT industry to students. This will enable the students to understand the real working environment in software development field.
- Internet of Things (IoT) special training camp (winter camp) organized to give internship training to the students to fulfil the industry skill set requirements.
- Massive Online Course (MOOC) by the NPTEL, Swayam and Spoken tutorial etc. Students who complete the MOOC will be provided with extra credit.
- Extra credit courses in which the students can select any one course in every year and the examination is based upon open book system.
- Non-academic courses on Clean India and literacy programme to gain extra credit.
- Pradhan Manthri Kaushal Vikas Yojana programme as a skill initiative by NSDC for software developer & web developer.
- Placement support programmes and activity-based programmes such as soft-skill programme and project-expo are provided to the students for bringing their skills to uplift the students’ personalities.
