- The Department of Physics conducted an Association Meeting on 19.06.2016. Dr. C.S. Narayanamoorthy, Professor and Head, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IISST), Kerala delivered a special address on “Scope of Physics”. A total of 50 students from III B.Sc Physics and II M.Sc Physics students attended the meeting.
- The Department of Physics organized a “Science Forum” meeting on 23.06.2016. Dr. Shanmugamurthy Lakshmanan, Vice Chancellor, Vetha Centre for Transdisciplinary Studies, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newjersey, USA, an alumnus of ou r institution, delivered a talk on “Ancient Science and Technology”. More than 100 PG students, Research Scholars from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics attended the meeting.
- The possibility of collaborative academic initiatives have been discussed by Dr. Shanmugamurthy Lakshmanan, Vice Chancellor and Mr. Stanly North, General Counsel, Vetha Centre for Transdisciplinary studies, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newjersey, USA with our college Secretary Maharaj, Principal, Director, HoDs and senior most faculty members of department on 23.06.2016 at 2.00 p.m.
- Doctoral Committee meeting was conducted to Mr. Gopi in the department of Physics on 13.06.2016. Dr. R. Robert, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Government Arts College (Men), Krishnagiri participated as subject expert.
- Doctoral Committee meeting was conducted to Mr. Dilip in the department of Physics on 02.03.2016. Dr. A.T.Ravichandran, Associate Professor, National College, Trichy participated as subject expert.
- Doctoral Committee meeting was conducted to Mr. P. Sangaiya in the department of Physics on 22.07.2016. Dr. K. Marimuthu, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Gandhigram Deemed University participated as subject expert.

- The Orientation and Welcome programme for I Year students was conducted on 20.06.2016. Swami Sahanananda blessed the students. Rituals conducted to the first year students by second and third year students was the highlight of this programme.
- II & III year UG students participated in the International Yoga Day celebration held at Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Maruthi College of Physical Education on 21.06.2016.
- Chandrasekar, II M.Sc Physics completed a Summer project and presented a paper on “High resistance measurement of Callibration standards and sopme 2-D systems” at Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai during 15.05.2016 to 08.07.2016.
