Department of Cooperation
The Post-Graduate and Research Department of Co-operation is one of the pioneering departments of the college. It has the distinction of inheriting the legacy of the College of Rural Higher Education (Ministry of Education, Government of India) which had existed before Arts and Science College, teaching Co-operation as a major subject since early 1960’s for both UG (B.Com. Cooperation) and PG (M.Com. Cooperative Management) students. The department has ten faculty members. The department faculty members has highly experienced and specialised in various fields like, Cooperation, Banking, Marketing, Finance, HRM and related areas. Every year 75 students including Post Graduate are successfully passed out. The syllabus of the course is designed according to need based for the cooperative sector including other sectors. The department of cooperation has awarded 50 M.Phil. degree scholars and 25 Ph.D. degree scholars so far. We are having more than fifty thousand books and 17 regular journals in the field of cooperation to facilitate and strengthen for the research programme in the department.
