State Level Workshop on Kalari Adimurai

The Department of Physical Education and World Federation of Kalari Adimurai, USA, jointly organised a State Level Workshop on ‘Kalari Adimurai’ on 10.02.2023 at GKD Auditorium. Dr. A. V. Ramani, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science, welcomed the gathering. Swami Nirmaleshananda, Secretary, delivered the inaugural address. In his address, he highlighted the importance of self-discipline, self-confidence and Kalari Payattu. Dr. S. Ramesh Kumar, Director of Physical Education, explained the theme and objective of the workshop.
Totally four technical sessions were conducted by the resource persons in various topics as detailed below.
• Dr. P. Senthil Rajkumar, CEO, World Federation of Kalari Adimurai, delivered a talk on “History and Opportunities in Kalari Adimurai”.
• Dr. S. Thirumalai Kumar, Professor, Department of Physical Education, Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, delivered a talk on “Research Outputs and Outcomes in Kalari Payattu”.
• Varmayogi Dr. N. Shanmugom, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Tamil of our College, delivered a lecture on “Kalari- Ankle Sprain Management”.
• Mr. M. Surendran and Mr. S. Sureshmani, Director, Training and Development, World Federation of Kalari Adimurai highlighted the different Kalari positions. Also he was demonstrated various Kalari Adimurai.
The valedictory function was held on the same day evening. Dr. Ramesh Rathinakumar, Founder, World Federation of Kalari Adimurai, USA, delivered felicitation address on the occasion through zoom meeting. Swami Anapekshananda, In-charge, Unaided Wing, blessed the gathering and launched the International Journal of Ancient Martial Arts. He also distributed the certificates to the participants. Dr. G. Balasundar, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Physical Education delivered the Vote of thanks. Nearly, 260 participants from various institutions actively participated and got benefited.
